A tornado was responsible for destroying or badly damaging about 90 homes in western Pennsylvania, National Weather Service meteorologists said Thursday as they continued a survey of the storm's aftermath. The worst damage from Wednesday's storm appeared to be in Hempfield Township in Westmoreland County along the U.S. Route 30 corridor, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh. Local officials expressed amazement that no one was hurt.

Mother nature was not happy this day, as she pushed a tornado through a small city in Western PA. All lives were spared this day. Bumps and bruises and a path of rubble where houses once stood, trees laid down in what were once yards is all that remains of this frightening day. Why am I talking about this day? Hempfield Pa. is only 1 hour drive time from my home. Tornado's are a rare weather form here since there are few flat areas. We had horrible hail and wind and flash floods streamed across streets everywhere. here are a few pictures of the days events.
